Death, Rebirth, & Suffering: Chapter 8 - Too Little Too Late

Death, Rebirth, & Suffering
The Life Story of Oliver Foust

Too Little Too Late [8]
Over the next few weeks, Matt tried to keep Oliver happy. He tried to pay attention but ultimately Oliver was drifting. Oliver spent most of his time out with friends at various nightclubs, while Matt would visit his parents. Matt had always been a Daddy's boy despite the blatant one-upping he did with his father Kevin. However, around three weeks after their discussion on their relationship Matt started to notice Oliver becoming sick and vomiting all the time. He knew Oliver was chronically ill and some days were harder than others due to his low weight. But even that too had changed, but barely. He had stopped losing weight despite the amount of time he spent sick and uncomfortable. Matt sat in front of his work computer and began to search into early signs of pregnancy but was left still unsure if Oliver was pregnant, or just becoming sicker. He glanced at the wall clock and saw he had about an hour before Oliver said he would be home. So he quickly visited the convenience store located in the plaza of Uptown to buy a pregnancy test. By the time he made it home, Oliver was already home, watching a movie wrapped in a heavy blanket. He sat next to him and kissed him on the cheek. "Are you ok? You've been throwing up a lot." Matt questioned as he placed the bag on the coffee table in front of them. Oliver turned to him and frowned. He was shaking and cold. "Oliver, can you do something for me? I have been worried about you, and after our conversation a few weeks ago I just want to make sure." Oliver reached an arm out of his blanket cocoon to inspect the bag Matt had brought him. "Really? You think I'm pregnant? After all that?" Oliver rolled his eyes, but slowly stood up and made his way to his bathroom with the pregnancy test box in hand. Matt stayed put on the couch, nervously wringing his hands. If Oliver had managed to conceive he would be happy but had Oliver kept to his word and been sleeping around? Did he even know these men who may or may not have had their way with him? Lost in thought he hadn't noticed Oliver come back downstairs holding the test. He sat down next to Matt and placed the test in front of them. It read 'Pregnant'. Matt stared at it and smiled. Oliver frowned and pulled his legs to his chest and began to cry. "Are you happy? I haven't miscarried this one,... yet." Oliver said as he glared at Matt, who returned the glare with shock. "You've been pregnant before? Why didn't you tell me?" Matt was in disbelief, and a bit hurt. How many times had Oliver gotten pregnant by him, only to miscarry? Oliver picked up the test and stared at it. He had been sleeping around quite a bit since that night. He had no clue whose child it was, or if it would continue to survive. How would Matt react to a child that isn't his after all that? The two sat in silence together before Matt retreated to his office to give Oliver some space. Oliver dug his cell phone out from the blanket and dialed his doctor to make some sort of appointment to find out how safe this even was for him. And if there was a way to find out before birth who the father is. Another week went by and the unborn was still alive. The doctor was very concerned his body wouldn't be able to handle the baby in later stages. Oliver was weak and very thin. He wasn't allowed to smoke much pot anymore to help boost the child's chances. In substitute the doctor requested he come in weekly for not only checkups but pain management. Weeks went by and Oliver tried to keep positive. His belly was starting to show due to his severe low weight. He stood naked in front of the wall-length mirror in his bathroom. He stared are his body and placed a hand on his lower belly. A tiny smile crossed his lips knowing not all hope is lost. He vowed to try and gain some weight to give himself and the child a better chance. He just wasn't sure how, but he was now lost in thought of all the partners he'd been with. He thought back to the night before Matt had approached him; his night with Issac and Augustus. He blushed and he felt a pleasing tingle. Oliver looked down at his now half-erect cock as he slid his hand further down his body and under his balls. He lightly probed his cunt, while rubbing the head of his cock. He bit his lip to quiet a moan before letting go of his cock and plunging his fingers deeper in himself, running a hand over his belly and chest. He wanted a cock in him so badly. As a droplet of cum slid down his inner thigh he snapped to reality upon hearing footsteps outside the door. Matt would be mad if he caught him like this. He'd yell at him for not asking him for help or something like that. He slid his fingers from himself growling in frustration before getting dressed and washing his hands. Matt was going with him today to the doctor's but as he started to leave the bathroom he paused and opened the drawer on the sink and pulled the hidden positive test from it and slide it into his pocket. He was happy but scared. He felt beautiful as the bump grew. It may be small but he felt a sense of hope in what lay within. As he walked down the stair, he saw Matt waiting for him, arms crossed in impatience or concern but Oliver only met his gaze with a half-smile.  Once at the office, the doctor prepped him for an Ultrasound of which Oliver began to feel uncomfortable with Matt. As he lay there staring at the ceiling, hoodie pulled up and pants were undone and pulled to expose him, he began to cry silently. Matt watched the screen and the doctor intently as the fetus was found. It hadn't been long enough to tell the gender, but the baby was alive and still growing in a healthy manner. Oliver smiled between tears but desperately wanted to go home. Matt had made him feel like this wasn't right. He was smothering him and making him uncomfortable with the pregnancy. He felt the jell wiped off his belly and he knew he finally could leave. As he sat up he placed his hands on either side of his belly and smiled down at it. Little moments would get him through this he thought. He slid his pants up and zipped them as he got off the bed and quickly pulled his black hoodie down and safely over his belly. Again he smiled, but Matt caught him doing it. On the way home Matt asked if he was happy about the baby. Oliver wasn't sure what to tell him. Yes, he was, but he didn't want to tell him that he felt smothered. But he finally looked up at him with a hand on his belly and said yes. He hadn't let Matt touch his bump... but he was considering it. Maybe he would change, maybe he would really care.
