Aesthetic: Chapter 6

Aesthetic
An Oliver Foust and Tobias Rivers Side Story

-6-
Oliver sat on his bed staring at a calendar laid carefully on top of a box of tampons. He still hadn't gotten used to his cycle after the surgery. He and Tobias had started officially dating and seeing one another more often. Yet, he still suffered from self-harm and depression. But he made some new friends while taking walks in the pavilion of San Myshuno to clear his mind. Their names were CoCo and Soma. They had helped him distract his mind from his worries. The three would sit on the couch for hours discussing cats, clothing, and gossip. Oliver had been feeling ill lately but had no excuse for it. He first thought he had eaten something bad or the weather was affecting him. He shook his head and climbed out of bed, placing the box and calendar on the bedside table. He slowly made his way to the bathroom. Oliver pulled a pregnancy test out of his medicine cabinet, opened it, and set it on the lip of the sink. After he fished a paper cup off the sink and pulled his panties down as he sat on the toilet. He managed to pee enough to put the test in. His nerves were getting the best of him. He thought to himself as the test lay in wait. What would Tobias say? Would he be happy? Would he be angry? Panic hit him as he waited. Oliver stared at the floor with tears in his eyes still seated on the toilet with his bottoms around his ankles. A few more moments, a small ding went off signaling the test was ready. A tear slide down Oliver's cheek as he picked up the test off the lip of the sink. As he read the word "pregnant" on the screen he broke down. He slid to the floor and began crying. After what felt like forever, Oliver picked himself up and tried his best to clean up. He put on a pair of clean panties and slide a loose sweater on before placing the test on the kitchen counter. He crossed his arms and stared at it before lowering his hands to rest on his belly. How far along was he? Was it even noticeable yet? While deep in thought, he wanted to be happy, he wanted to tell Tobias, but he was scared.

He let the guilt eat away at him for about a week. He asked CoCo for advice and even she pushed Oliver to tell Tobias. She said he should be happy in the fact he had conceived even if he and Tobias don't work out. Coco promised to help raise the child and be there for Oliver if everything fell apart. They had become best friends for a reason and Oliver was grateful for her. On Saturday morning, Oliver got out of bed with morning sickness but was determined to finally tell Tobias. There was a party tonight and maybe they could meet before to talk. As he looked over himself in the mirror he rubbed a hand over his tiny baby bump. It was hardly noticeable and for the most part, looked like he had just gained some weight. None of his acquaintances had noticed and only his best friends knew. He smiled for the first time about it as he undressed to shower. He sent Tobias a text after, asking if he could see him later. The rest of the day he spent doing errands and busy work to try and keep himself occupied. As he was washing dishes, he heard a strange noise behind him but ignored it. But soon a pair of hands grabbed his hips and pulled him back into them, wrapping their arms around his belly. "What did you want to talk about?" Tobias calmly said into Oliver's ear, eyes closed. Oliver turned in his arms to face him and looked up at him. "Can we sit to talk?" Tobias took his hand and they sat on the couch together. "Tobias, what do you think of kids?" Oliver blurted out staring at the floor. Tobias stayed quiet for a bit before reaching for Oliver'd chin and forcing him to look at him. "I don't know. But if they were ours, and they were as lovely as you, I'd be ok with it." Oliver smiled hearing this. "You're pregnant aren't you? Is that why you've been so strange lately?" Tobias said as he wiped the tears from Oliver's eyes. "I'm sorry... I wanted to tell you but I was scared you would be mad. Or you would leave me." Tobias kissed him and pulled him close. "Oliver, I'd watch the world burn for you." He leaned Oliver back on the couch and slide on the floor next to him. Oliver pulled up his shirt and Tobias kissed the bump. His heir, his bloodline held within this other being he cared so much for. Tobias lay against Oliver and his bump for the next few hours trying to stay in the moment. "Do you want to go to the party still?" Oliver quietly said through sleepy eyes. Tobias shook his head and picked Oliver up before cradling him in bed. "No, let me stay here, with you tonight." Oliver closed his eyes and smiled, and drifted off to sleep in Tobias's warm embrace.
